e-scape landscape architects were formed in 2000 and operate from offices in converted farm buildings based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The business specialises in golf course design, local authority & large developers housing schemes, play area design, education & schools schemes, habitat & water restoration projects as well as private, domestic garden landscape design and build work. We are chartered landscape architects and a landscape Institute registered practice.

The majority of our landscape design schemes are carried out in South London, Kent & Essex although we have have worked throughout the UK as well as in China and Australia. e-scape landscape architects have built up a reputation for producing well designed, constructed and managed schemes on time and within budget.

Experience

We have a combined experience of some 48 years in all aspects of landscape architecture, design & construction skills plus the practical experience required to create truly inspired gardens & outdoor spaces. A local network of tried and tested construction specialists, contractors and suppliers has been established over the years to provide an efficient service for our clients.

Our specialisms include a working knowledge of modern design concepts, the exciting use of up to date 'cutting edge' materials, all technical aspects of building a scheme whether modern or traditional plus plants and soft landscape design. Coming from an extremely diverse landscape architecture background originating in local authorities in the London area the practice also has specialisms in ecology, ornithology, botany & graphic design/illustration.

All our design work is carried out using Computer Aided Design (Vector Works) compatible with AutoCad and we regularly work with Architects, Developers, Builders, Planners & fellow design professionals with all types of software.

Engaging the landscape designer

The design process begins with an initial client / site meeting to look at the area and discuss the clients requirements and ideas. This is followed by an accurate survey, noting existing trees, vegetation, structures, features, services, and levels.  Further client liaison will establish a more precise brief and an indication of budget. We then start to put together concepts and ideas in consultation to gain feedback and agreement on a final design. The landscape architect then produces a working masterplan with material specifications which can include computer 3D visualisations and planting plans on request. At this juncture the client can also explore such options as material details, irrigation, lighting, planting, equipment, boundary details, site furniture, access, structures, planters and future maintenance. Once the Masterplan is finished and agreed, the necessary specifications & schedules can be prepared and tendered on to landscape contractors to price accurately.
